Description

A large tiger swallowtail that often glides with its wings in a "V."

Habitat

Woodlands, especially along canyons and ravines with streams.  Occurs in suburbia, but less frequent there than Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

Flight Period

March-September.

Caterpillar Foodplants

Cherries (Prunus), ashes (Fraxinus) and other trees.
