Description

Small and orange, with black wing borders and reticulations. In the East, one of our most commonly encountered butterflies.

Habitat

Meadows, roadsides, open fields, suburbia and disturbed areas.

Flight Period

Throughout warm weather.

Caterpillar Foodplants

Asters (now placed in a number of genera).
